WOW! I just got this great offer from Spiegel for a pre-approved credit offer. No annual fee, and I get a free copy of the Spiegel 440 page Fall 2003 catalog (a $10 value). A credit line up to $1500. Annual %age rate for purchases 22.8% Penalty APR 24.8% The annual rate may vary by adding 16.5% to the highest prime rate as published in the wall street journal (as long as it's between 22.8 and 24.99 Minimum finance charge $1 for any billing period in which a Finance Charge of less than $1 would otherwise be imposed (like if I didn't charge anything?) Are these people kidding? I may look stupid but I'm not THAT stupid. I think I'll call 'em and tell them how I just threw out a 4.99% Crapitol 1 card offer. Where do they come up with these terms?
I thought Spiegel was bankrupt. They closed their outlet stores in a "going out of business sale." You know, 70% off, sell the fixtures, no checks, only cash or credit cards. And I'm not sure if they even took their credit cards, or if it was Visa, MC, Discover and AMEX.
New NN, Speigel, Eddie Bauer Card Desdemona | 347 posts since Dec 2000 66.72.148.33 | 09.03.2003 @ 19:56 Has any one with an old NN (Newport News), Speigel, Eddie Bauer been issued a new card through World Financial Network National Bank (WFNNB)? Just saw it my lastest NN catalog. Gives a 800 number saying apply today. I have an closed FCNB NN account with a $4100 limit I would love to have open again. I asked this about a week ago and no one answered. There is a new Speigel's card to that can be used through Newport News, and Eddie Bauer. It doesn't sound like a visa/MC jsut a plain old retail card. What I would like to know is... can we have our old Speigel's retail accounts turn back on under WFNNB?
I just called them to ask whether I need to re-apply for Spiegel Card. They told me that I need to re-apply for New Spiegel with World Financial Network Bank. The new number to apply for new Spiegel or Eddie Bauer Card is 1-866-507-6744 or instant credit inside the store. Ron.
Has anyone received this card yet? Were some of the old Spiegel cards converted or do everyone have to reapply?
Mandy, I asked them theold Spiegel Card converted to new one and they told me that I have to re-apply again to get the same card. I don't want to get one since I don't want buy much from them. I got my old Spiegel card from pre-approval offer from FCNB . Ron.
