I filed Chapter 7 in December '95, it was discharged in April '96. One of the accounts that was included in the BK was a personal loan from a Credit Union. This loan is only on Experian and the status is paid never later. I know my scores are in the mid-700's now. I appled to the same Credit Union to open up a savings account, with the intention of applying for a personal loan in about 3-4 months. Yesterday a credit union representative called and said I already had an account and in the system it was a charge-off. I told the rep that the loan was included in the BK. She wants a copy of the accounts that were included in the BK. My question is should I pursue this or just let it go. Can they start reporting it again as included in BK? It took me a while to get all the 'included in BK' accounts removed from all 3 of my credit reports, and I don't want to have to do it all over again. Will they even consider me for a personal loan if I had a previous account with them that was included in the BK? Thanks!

Why would you go back to the place that you didn't pay last time? Think of it this way: If you lent money to a friend and she didn't repay you, would you lend her money again?

Don't give them anything, and don't ask them for anything. It's best to avoid the place all together.

Try another credit union or bank.

Thanks! I had a feeling it was not the right thing to do.

Yes. Never give anyone your bankruptcy paperwork. There's no reason to do so.

Just go to another lender and forget about the past. There's plenty of other lenders who will give you a chance, since your bankruptcy is so old.

Never thought I could agree with anything Too much says, but seriously, why would the credit union want to lend you money again even if you have good credit now? The last time they lent you money, you never paid them back. So yeah, you'll need to go somewhere else.
