I contacted Cross Country to settle my account today, but they told me that they can not settle the account with me because they don't consider delinquent. The account has a balance of $1200 with a $350 limit. Everything over the limit is fees and finance charges. The account is currently being paid through consumer credit counseling. I want to stop this and settle all of the accounts involved. How can I get them to settle with me? Is there a particular letter I can send. Please help.

they are stubborn as government mules. unless its a derog trade line they will not settle. And if it is a derog it will take 100% complete payment including all late , over the limit, and finance fee's, then they may *may* remove it if you find the right person. I cost me 1118 dollars on a card with a 800 dollar credit line to have the TL totally removed after being 90 days late twice. bt it was a smalll price to pay for my 700 Fico score.
