I have a medical collection that has a opened date of 00/0000. The debt was bought from a medical provider. HOW IS THE START OF THE SEVEN-YEAR PERIOD DETERMINED? I also have another that reports like this: Collection Date Reported: 01/2002 Collection agency: CRACKHEAD COLLECTION AGENCY Client name: MORONS R-US Account/serial number: 123XXXX Date assigned: 11/2001 Original amount: 45 Date of balance: 01/2002 Balance amount: 45 Status date: 01/2002 Status code: Unpaid Designator code: Individual WHAT DETERMINES HOW LONG THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE REPORTED?
That doesn't work. I had a collection reported that way that I had to send a validation letter to. That is the only way I could get it removed. PS, enclose a copy of the entry where it shows that way, then they have no way to explain it. PSS: Kinda back for a minute, very short stay. Glad to see you all again!!!! (EQU score up 3 points since January had 1 paid collection removed. Now only 2 paid collections that are almost 5 years old left and TONS of positives.)
