There is a company called www.pocketcard.com
They offer the ability to fund a creditcard with a checking account. This has been great for giving money to my little brother without give him a real creditcard to charge to the max.

isn't this just like the cobaltcard.com but costs money and doesn't give you $20 credit for signing up???

These are really handy, and there are quite a few of these cards available with all sorts of good deals. They are even available from vending machines in some places.

I've given them as gifts to my grandkids because they're always wanting to purchase things online. Many of the cards send a statement showing what purchases were made. This helps keep the imperfect children, like mine, out of the porno sites! Nonetheless, it's good for teaching kids fiscal responsibility and is also great for those who get allowances.

I'd never heard of the Cobalt Card until now, but it sure looks like a good deal.
