Now that I have a completely clean credit file, Discover has decided to raise my interest rate from 14.9 to 16.9. This was based on information contained in my TU file. If I don't agree, I must respond in writing. Using my card will acknowledge acceptance of the new terms. This notice came in the mail today as a sheet of paper with tape on the edge. What, they can't afford envelopes now? I thought it was junk mail and would have thrown it away if I didn't see the fine print above my address that said "important information regarding your account" I would have. Has anyone else gotten a notice from Discover like this? Isn't this illegal to send stuff like this without an envelope that anyone else could read? Since my file has changed recently and I have paid down balances should I ask that they reconsider or should I just BT to one of my other accounts with a lower rate? BTW, I have never been late on a payment.
Discover is made up of a bunch of self-centered, self-serving moronic money hungry penny pinching iditiots. I have had the card for almost 2 years, no increase in CL. But an increase in my APR though. Even though nothing on my report has changed. So I just rape them with the low BT APR's they propose. Good Luck and ask George
I tried for an increase after 1.5 years. They said they had to have a new application????? I told them to forget it, I didn't need it that bad.
TRY THIS # @ DISCOVERCARD...1-800-347-2911 I got a 5.90% BT and FINALLY $3,000 increase at the same time...
Well, I got 3.9 until October from Fleet. I'll play the game...I'll transfer back to Discover when Fleet expires at one of their "great" Balance Transfer Rates. And round and round we goooooooo....
They want you to APPLY for an increase!!! I DON'T PLAY THAT GAME... I STOPPED USING THE CARD ALL-TOGETHER AFTER A $400.00+ CASH BACK... They FINALLY backed down...
