That is not necessarly true... I have attempted to get Dish network 3 times and they wanted my ssn to pull a credit report. THe last time I agreed and no dice, not even with a deposit...

    Smit,

I clicked that link from the other thread, thanks!

Would you happen to know if they are available in all areas or have limitations in providing service. I'm in rural Arizona is why I'm asking, and did send an email to the company asking the same question but received back an auto-responder.

Just curious, thought you may know, if not, I'll be patient and wait for an email reply.

I'm sorry I don't know if they do go way out or not. I'll check out the website and see if I find out anything.

Well at the website on the order form they never asked for SS#. I wonder if you had a sales guy come to you, they always need it and it looks like this is an independent firm/broker that has it's own rules. And it's all done online.

They will put the dish on RVs so I don't see why not at your place:). Let me know what you find out. Hope it goes well for you.

Just had it installed last month. no fee for equipment or installation and no credit check as long as you 1) sign up for 1-years service and 2) get no more than 2 units installed (3 or more units= credit check). I have had no blackouts... after 7 years without cable or anything, I think it is GREAT, no problems at all! Except that it is cutting into my creditnet time :)

When we got ours, they charged an installation fee and made sure I had a valid credit card, but I paid cash for the installation, and I pay by check monthly. And my credit stinks!!

They are touting the no credit check systems at Radio Shack here. We just got Dish installed and if your credit is sucky you pay in advance 2 months, thats all. We also have Direct Tv in our other house and they run the same, pay a month in advance if your credit is bad.

THEY CAN CHANGE YOUR CHANNELS...LIKE UP-GRADE OR DOWN-GRADE YOU IN 5-10 SECONDS...SO WHY WOULD THEY NEED TO RUN A CREDIT REPORT???

JUST CHARGE FOR A FEW MONTHS UP FRONT...

I HAVE DIRECTV AND THEY CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD A FEW DAYS AFTER THEY CUT THE STATEMENT...

THEY CAN "CUT YOU OFF" THE DAY AFTER THE DUE DATE IN 5-10 SECONDS!!!

I called Direct Tv and they said if your credit score is low then you need to put a $50 deposit before they start service.

    Dish Network SCAMMERS!!!

I too have had trouble with Dish Network. So I actually worked as an installation technician in Englewood. (That's where there headquarters are). They only give you a $40 discount when you work with them. If you worked for the Cable company they give you phone, internet, and tv. Rip off one. Rip off two is that I didn't even qualify to get service because of my age. I was just 19 when I worked there. They said I didn't have a long enough credit history. Funny considering Re-max let me buy a house. lol The General Manager was and is the worst. He runs most of the State of Colorado. And Part of Utah I think. He purposly goes out of the way to lose tech's so he doesn't have to promote them. So If you decide to get Dish Network in Colorado, get a subcontractor from out of the phone book. You'll be much happier.
