Hi! Some of you probably remember me from an earlier post entitled "Help!! Resp 4 Credit b4 Turned 18?" http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...threadid=28487&perpage=20&pgnum=&pagenumber=1 (I don't know if the above link will work if I only copied and pasted it, but it's worth a try...) In short, I had 5 negative accounts on my credit from credit cards which were given to me before I turned 18. (3 were actual credit cards and 2 were the collection agencies which stemmed from the cc's.) Well I disputed these accts with Equifax about 10 days ago, since you're not legally able to sign a contract before you are of legal age to do so, which in Ohio was 18. I called EQ today to see if there had been any progress, and the rep told me every one of the account would be removed within 3-5 business days!!!!!!!! I am so happy! I know that there is a possibility of them reappearing in the future, and I shouldn't "count my chickens before they hatch", but I can't help but be excited!!! I truely have learned my lesson with credit, and in the past year have not been late on any of my open accounts. Credit is a powerful thing. When it's good, it can get you anything; when it's bad, it hinders all financial progress. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on that topic. I am now going to dispute it with TU and EX. (It took me a little longer to get their fax numbers) Hopefully the accts. will be deleted through these CRA's as well. Does anything think that I should include in my letter something that states that Equifax has already taken these accts. off of my report? Would that help or just clutter? I welcome any comments or suggestions. -Eric
I would not mention that another CRA deleted just yet; use that as additional ammo IF they do not delete on the first request.
Congrats.... I am on the verge of starting the verification process with the CRAs .. and its neat to know that others that have just started our getting good results..
