Does anyone know if card companies and car dealerships verify the stated income on your application? Or do they just verify your job? Thanks in advance!

I have NEVER had my income verified. I think I've had employment verified maybe once or twice and that was along time ago...but it depends I guess.

I have NEVER had anybody ask for income verification, until I had the AUDACITY to ask AMEX BLUE for a piddely increase of $4,500!!!

They won't get the verification...and the card will still collect lint!!!

They will ask for paystubs if you have a low credit score.

Most first time finance programs will require verification.

Hell VW called my girl's work twice to verify, after getting copies of paystubs. Crazy huh?

I have a good credit history. When applying for the Pulaski MC they verified both employment and income. My scores are mid 700's. So it depends on the issuer. Most issuers do not verify, very few do.

chase did not nor did audi. They did not ask for paystubs, they did not call to verify anything.

Only thing i gave them was my john doe, copy of SSN/insurance/drivers license, and a check for the down payment. Wham bam thank you mam.

Might try to get in with chase manhattan through a dealership. It was mildly pleasant..

Citibank took my word for it,
the first time I financed with Ford they didn't
This last time in Jan., all they required were paystubs. Which is strange my score the first time was 500's this last time was 684 when I applied.
OH and get this, it started reporting on hubbys and my report a few days ago, my score dropped 4 points hubbys dropped 37 points. Same loan, same vehicle. Actually I have ANOTHER vehicle loan that I owe $15K on so I thought I would get the bigger drop. Hubby has a PIF car loan and he gets the bigger drop...GO FIGURE!
