Is this enough validation?

Got a fax from a CA today for one citi account.

The first page is the info sheet i sent, "was the purported balance of this account been used in any tax deduction claim" is answered no. Shouldn't that be yes, since citi wrote off part of the debt when they charged it off?

Page two is a print screen from the computer with just balances and placement info for the CA, and the DLA. Nothing with the orginial date of service, nothing from citi specifically.

Nothing indicates they bought the debt, so i guess a C&D is next.

I'll say that's not validation or even a standard of proof for a judge.

The question though about tax writeoffs is not relavent. Of course it was charged to p/l and of course they included it in their tax return but, it doesn't have a bearing on if you owe the money or not. The answer to that question {or even if they declined to answer} doesn't matter.

    Dear Too_Poor,

This is totally unacceptable, not even close.

Send it ALL back with your second demand for validation ond your estoppel.

Before you do keep copies of everything.

You can incorporate your C&D in the letter.

    :)

    Oh,

Tell them they lied too. If they "write it off" that IS a tax deduction scheme and you have a right to know to determine whether or not you'll be sending a 1099 re: any payments.

    Good Luck keep us posted.

    :)
