Almost a week has past since I disputed 3 collection items on my EQU report. They all show up as DISPUTED BY CONSUMER-REINVESTIGATION IN PROGRESS on my reports, but absolutely not even a single point change in my score.

The derogs are all old and PAID collections. However, when I pull my FICO, it even mentions that the derogs are the top negative reason for my score.

Any ideas about all of this? It is MADDENING!

mine has done the same thing. It NEVER changes my score to have the account in dispute. I think EQ will show the account in dispute to creditors, but possibly NOT to us?????? I don't know...

Also, if you dispute it, you need to get a new credit report and score, otherwise you are just viewing the same report over and over again!

I suspect that the report creditors see may be different since I was recently approved for a couple of cards, despite my score and derogs.

I wonder what I would get if I pulled my score from one of those 3-report outfits like QSpace?

hmmm, good question, but why risk it?

I wouldn't worry about it. If you are being approved for cards etc...., why risk the inquiry and credit score drop.

    Thats my guess...
