Ok. I have to report this... because it seems so ODD I can hardly believe it.

I was told by one of my banks that they only report to Equifax. Now, their trade line shows on all 3 of my reports...

Here's what I was told, and by 2 supervisors...
the bank reports to Equifax monthly. Equifax updates itself monthly. Then every 90 days Equifax updates the TRIREPORT...

meaning: equifax updates TU and Experian... and the creditor doesn't directly even report to TU and Experian...

We discussed this at length because it seemed so foreign to me... but we discussed who owns the credit card number (the bank does) but I own my personal information... so who then complains to TU for disclosing my entire account numbers in every consumer report to me??? I would think the bank, but they say they don't even directly report to TU so how do they demand a change in their contract with TU when they don't have a contract with TU...

I'm going to have to find an insider in the bureaus...

anyone ever hear of any of this???

I can't even imagine that. All 3o f my reports are so incredibly different. If it does happen, it hasn't happened to me yet. If it was that easy I would just dispute with Equifax and wait for them to update the rest every 90 days.

So what happens when Equifax deletes a tradeline? Will TU and Experian also delete within 90 days? That would be great in my case.

My Equifax has a few things that are unique to it. On the other hand I am "serviced" by CSC in Houston so maybe some Equifax affiliates do what you are talkin about.

I can't verify it, but I have suspected it.

First of all, my local bank (auto loan) only reports to Equifax. They stated that they only have a contract with Equifax and do not report to the other two bureaus (I have no reason to disagree with them). Guess who else reports my auto loan? TU. How? Who knows. Experian does not report though.

Second reason why I believe this is true (that the bureaus do report to each other) I disputed my mortgage inquiries a couple months ago with TU and Equifax (didn't dispute Experian). I asked them to label the hard inquiries as ARs. TU and Equifax refused to - what a surprise. Experian did it though. They left one as a hard inquiry and labeled the other six as soft inquiries - I didn't even dispute it with them. Before this occurred, they were reporting all the inquiries as hard.

    The mystery begins.

I disputed a charge-off with EXP and they changed status to verified on 4-2000 Account Closed Due To Transfer (from charge-off but left the neg. acct. history in tact)... and low an behold it now says the same thing on TU.. but I never disputed with TU!!! Hmmmmmmmmm.....

Now only if they can get the DOLA's to match!
