I went for the GM Card after reading several posts.
My Equifax is now its highest ever since Oct 1996 - 669!

I went online and applied and got this message:

Thansk you for applying for the GM Card. We will respond with 10-14 days.

In the meantime, please review the following link
to review the benefits available to you as a GM Cardholder.

It mentioned a couple of other sales points about the card - BUT - it did not say I got it or at what rate?

What do you all; think - I never saw a decline telling you to go to a link describing the fantastic cardholder benefits?

EITHER WAY, that car loan sure kicked up the Equifax score to the range whereonly 15 out of every 100 will pay late or default sometime in the next two years.

GOSH, when the BK negatives fall off in ONE YEAR,
I"LL DECIDE IF I"LL KEEP AMEX of get a DINERS/Carte Blanche card....

BUT, for now, let's keep paws crossed I get this prime GM Card...

    You all think I passed?

I applied for and received a GM Card back in June. I got a similar message to what you described saying to wait 10-14 days. I don't remember a link to a cardholder agreement. I called maybe 15 minutes after I applied and talked to a rep and she told me I was approved with a $4k limit. Not sure what my score was at the time, at least 660+.

Since then I was able to get a $1000 higher limit and used one of their 0% for 6 months balance transfer checks to my advantage. Still at a crappy 15.49% purchase APR though.

    Anyway, good luck :)

I got that message as well and then was approved. Not a great CL, but hey...its a start.

Why would you want to give up Amex for DC? I've had a corporate DC card for two years, and been able to use it maybe twice, both times at hotels. Nobody takes the thing. Are there advantages to it I don't know about?

After reading THOUSANDS of posts I've gleaned what I think is critical info about score cut off.

I keep insisting that everyone wait until they are well into the 680's before applying for anything.

680 seems to be a magic cutoff for many lenders, for many products, as well as "bumpage" up into the next LOC catagory.

I do wish you the best.

I received the same message and called the number below and spoke to a rep that said I was approved for $4k 15.49% O% 6 month BT. I called back when I recieved the card and requested more credit. I was immediately given another $1k. My FICO was 703 EQ CW.

Refused three times, all with scores above 680, once with a score of 700+. The first time, no reason given, the second two times, too many inquiries, too many new CLs. I wonder if, now that my score is 730 and my inquiries have been bumped down to 4, they would refuse me again.

    Hey Dog,

Let me congratulate you now as you will be approved. I have no doubt about it. They can be a little tight on the loc's, but once you get the card, call them and ask for a higher limit. I got an extra $2000 just for the asking. So, in dog talk - ARRROOOOO!

Those of you who called after applying and got told your CL before receiving the card: Which phone number did you call?

I applied a few days ago with a 781 EQ score which they saw when they pulled my CR and got the 10-14 day message. I called them at 877-277-0948 and again was told that it would take 10-14 days.

Why the heck does is state Instant Decision when they don't make an instant decision? Is it just the luck of which CSR you get to get the CL information?

I got a card yesterday from household telling me if I wanted it to pay $19 and they will give me from 300 to 1000 for only $79 a year. It is currently resting in the trash.
