    Okay....so I'm looking for the shortcut. :)

Does anyone have a valid, working fax number for Experian for disputes?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Matt.

I don't have it handy, but the 972 number in the FAQ's is still working for me.

stupid EX. I faxed them something last week about an incorrect address and they sent me a fax back saying I had the wrong dept. and could not fax in a dispute.

972-390-1680 .. If you get a fax back saying wrong fax number or dept.. Keep on faxing.. They will forward it so you leave them alone.. :)

Have you tried just doing the dispute online? If you have a report number from before, you can do it online and check up on it at any time. The site is...www.experian.com/consumer Hope that may help you because the only luck I have had with the fax is with TU.

Hi lucky, ya at least speaking for myself, the first method is always online.. But a big problem I have had with EXP is them taking way over the 30 days allowed to either validate or delete a neg tradeline. When that happens, I start the faxing.. I have had no luck on the phone with people, perhaps I am just a bad talker.. But in my letters.. I keep it personal and informal, but demand deletion I dont start quoting rules and laws.. Not at first anyway.. I just say.. Been over 30 days.. Delete or update.. To such an such.. Sometimes, I get no response from a fax at first, then I start faxing.. more and more.. mark me as frivouls.. I will fax until they are out of paper.. I do it all on my computer so I can set it up to fax every 10 minutes without slowing me down one bit.. After awhile, they do what I want.. I know it seems like a CCCS type scheme.. But it is coming from the consumer, myself.. with contact numbers and a email addy.. But it is just one of the many tools one can use to get action.. in my experience.. EXP is the worse, Not reporting credit limits.. Not supplying investigation procedures when requested .. being the only one out of the 3 CRA's to validate something while the other two delete.. They are HORRIBLE

I have only disuted one item with them and it was resovled quickly. I can see how how they are of little to no help. It can be pretty upsetting that it takes so long. Hope you do get through to them. Do you use winfax for that? Sounds like a great idea. I am sure that one of these days they will get it updated or deleted. Good luck!!
