I just called EXP as I sent my round 1 letter with the wrong SS# on it (previous post) anyway, I wanted to check on it and dispute over the phone if the had rejected the letter.

Experian has a previous address that we need off to get a couple of our other accts off- he lived there and his father lived there (we bought the house from them). When I called to see if I could get this address off, she transferred me to the "specialty" dept for mixed files and asked again, this address is not his right? Right!

As I was on hold, I got nervous and hung up- I am not good on the phone!

She said they are trying to decipher what is his and his fathers, hence the special dept.

Should I just wait it out and see what they come up with or is there any other way to get this address off?

    Thanks

My wife had the same thing happen to her yesterday. She called and started to explain she had some incorrect address's on her report, She told them she thought the address's might of been a relatives. As soon as she said that they asked her to hold for the "specislty dept." She was on hold for about 20 minutes. She was getting scared and wanted to hang up. But she waited and had no problem at all getting 5 old address's removed.

Oh good, I will have DH call and just tell them he never lived there.

The way the lady made it sound was if they were investigating the address and I didn't want to be caught in a lie on the phone!

    Thanks for letting me know.

I just called Experian today to remove invalid addresses on my report and a wrong first name and old phone number. I think I went throught a brief menu and got to a rep. named Sue. I was not passed on to anohter dept. or made to feel like I was doing something wrong. She said an updated report would go out in 8-10 days. I called 1-888-972-5722. I'll see if they are really deleted in a couple of weeks.

Sorry, I think I forgot to mention that DH and his father have the same name so that is why the mixed file dept...just sounded so official I got cold feet on the phone. The lady was extremely nice, just that she had to transfer me and I didn't think I could pull it off.
