I disputed 2 Sears accounts last month and they came back verified, when I disputed them on the 5 of this month, they came back verified on the 16th (today). SEARS Open/Current, was past due 30 days. SEARS Open/Current, was past due 90 days. I know they didn't check. I'm thinking about waiting till CHOD season before I send this in again. Oh yeah, the first time I did it by mail, the second time I did it online. I also disputed a Dillards account that they said was Open/Current, was past due 30 days. They still say that investigation is pending Anyway, my question is should I wait? Also, what letter should I send during CHOD season. My last question is what letter should I use to remove inquires. I started to do bumpage but I'm not certain if there is a letter that I could use to reomve the hards. On a lighter note I do see where they removed incorrect addresses and names from my report from my report.
You can try to dispute the accounts again during CHOD. Make sure you send by mail CRRR. I am having the same problem and hoping that CHOD will work. I have also tried disputing inquiries and have never had any success in the past. You could also send inq. disputes during CHOD and possibly get a rep that will put them in dispute for you.
If your Sears lates are not too recent, you can call Sears customer service and ask for a goodwill adjustment and maybe get them removed. I just got an 18 month old 30 day late removed that way, with no hassle at all from the polite CSR. The account is still open with a zero balance which I think might have made a difference. Don't know if your multiple accounts would make this more difficult.
EX's verifications are highly suspect, in my opinion. A few weeks ago I asked them how they verify and the response was, "it's computer to computer". I called them today and asked the same question, the response was "we send a letter to the address on the report and they respond with Delete, Verify or Update". So, either the good people at EX don't know what they're talking about or they don't take any action whatsoever to verify a disputed item. I got the feeling that they don't take disputes seriously. You may have better luck when CHOD rolls around but my experience has been that EX doesn't give you much satisfaction with disputes.
