Look at what Transunion has on my report:

    TOO FEW MORTGAGE ACCOUNTS
NOT ENOUGH MORTGAGE ACCOUNT ACTIVITY HAS A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR CREDIT SCORE.

What?! Now, please keep in mind that I *own* a house - it was an inheritance from my grandparents. Now why on earth would I want to have a mortgage?!

This really sucks. It wasn't there before (about 2 months ago) - why should this count against me?? Does anyone think I would have a chance at getting this removed if I call them up and talk to them? If so, does anyone have the # for Transunion?

Thanks Guys ---this board is #1 in my book!!

Um, they are not going to remove that. That is a reason code, explaining to you, why your score is what it is. If they did for some reason remove that statement, another reason would take it's place. In fact, you will always have those reasons describing why your score is what it is. We all have those comments.

Yes, Lkh is right. I have a reason on TU that states "too few satisfactory accounts". I have 18 accounts listed under satisfatory. So I wouldn't worry about the statements as they have to put something there.

Okay, thanks for the input. I just feel like it's punishment for not owing $100,000 on a house loan!

    Sounds like a plan.
Wonder if I can roll my oceanside view land payments in AZ in with the mortgage??

    Pandora,

Don't feel bad, we had the same reason code and DO have a mortgage reporting.

We were trying to figure out for TU's scoring model what is the ideal number of homes to own?

Obviously it's not zero and it's not one.

    6 maybe? LOL
