Anyone able to get limit increases with them? If so, after how long? How generous/stingy are they with limit increases? Also, do they report to all 3 bureaus? I know they don't have the best reputation, but I didn't read this board till after I opened the account and I really need it cause it's my largest limit ($400).

I'm sorry you're stuck with this card for a while. A couple weeks back, I canceled my account.

In terms of problems with 1st Premier, I didn't have any and I was with them for one year. The problem is that they are incredibly stingy! After being with them for six months, I spent $25 for a $100 increase. Then, when my anniversary came, 1st Premier granted me a whopping $50! I considered that an insult and canceled the card. Fortunately, my balance was already at zero, so all I had to do was call and get rid of the confounded thing.

My advice is to lose this card as soon as you can! Working up to any kind of a decent limit would take forever!

I just had my 1 year increase also.. $100 too. But this is my pay the balance every month card. So I use it for silly stuff and use my bigger limit card for the serious stuff like my deposits for my wedding.

Forst Preimer was my First Card after trying to rebuild. I had it for 1.5 years. In that time I went from $250 to $500 in limit. Providian offered a $1000 when I had that card for a year. I think FPB card helped. I did get rid of it eventually.

    Jake,

You made faster progress with 1st Premier than I did. Starting out, my credit limit was $400 and, 12 months later (just prior to closing) it was at $550. If my last increase had been more than $50, I might have considered keeping the card longer. Instead, I thought, "What an insult!" And closed the account. The interest rate was wayyyy too high and I didn't like the monthly fees.
