I rec'd a letter today from Citi stating the following:

The inquiry we received in reference to account number: xxxxxxx should be directed to:

    Fourscore
    888 809 2320

Citibank no longer owns this account. This account was sold to Fourscore in February 2002. All communication concerning this account should be addressed to the new owner.

    And that's it.

I don't even know where the inquiry came from? I have been disputing this with the Bureaus who started collection on this "debt" back in 5/2002. They still have not provided validation.

Fourscore is no where on my reports (knock on wood).

I guess now would be good time to dispute that Citibank listing on that report.
It kind of dismays me, because I goodwilled them 2 weeks ago and I was just waiting for a response.

The debt is past SOL and is due to come off in a year and a half.

    Any advice?

I think that this is the only responce you will get to your good will letter, I had a account like this and I disputed with the CRA and it came off. I did have to dispute atleast twice with each CRA. good luck

These guys are just about non-existent on the net, and on the bbb.

Can't even find an address and did a CN search. Didn't find anything.

    Help! :) Thanks.

Kind of a 3 step process

Went to Google, typed the 800 number in, this got a few listings which got this page:

    http://www.debtmarketplace.com/sellers-matrix.html

Thats where the top info and the full name. Then I searched on google for the full name which got this page:

    http://www.creditcollectionsworld.com/pdf/dbrankupdated.xls

This listed them in MN, then off too Big Yellow.com where I seached Fourscore and MN and that gave me the address and phone number. I then cross verified the phone number in google. Google is a pretty cool tool. Type your phone number in one time and see what you get. Type it like this 555-555-5555

I see this company mentioned alot on other boards. They are the scum that rests just above the bottom of the barrel. Probably in a year or 2 they will sell to camco(which they do alot) and then you will have camco bothering and trying to get a default judgement off you when they try and sneak a lawsuit by you. buncha losers.
