I've been waiting 4 years for lates to drop off and get my credit back into shape. My highest score is 722 with over 100,000 worth of credit.

My lady friend and I have been together for 11 years and ran her credit for the first time.

801 with her highest Cl being 12,500 and her total line less than 30,000. (She is on 2 of my $15,00 cards which I didn't count in the total which did help)

Hel*, why am I fighting this...all I need to do is marry her and use her CREDIT.

On second thought she'd probably wanted to be treated like a human....and that wouldn't work! :)

Been together for 11 years and didn't get hitched? Well hey, at least now you have a good reason to make it official :)

As a friend said to me one time...."Why spoil a good relationship with marriage."

In my opinion, if you have been together for 11 years and haven't gotten married there is a reason/problem. Instead of getting married get AU'd on her CC's. It's a lot less hassle. ;) Charlie

Isnt' that kind of a drastic solution? I think I would rather keep the bad credit.

Actually she dosen't have thata much in credit lines.
That's why I was so supprised at her score (I said 801, it was actually 803 :))

She dosen't want high credit lines...for over 20 years she has paid her cards off every mos., never been late and no negatives.

Since we work together, and she handles a lot of my business, I put her on two of my cards whos credit lines are more than her total.

So it would no good to be AU'd on her cards since a credit check would be on me.

I was really supprised that her score was that high w/o high credit lines, but it goes to show you that no negatives and no lates are the key.

I do keep forgetting that she does have high credit lines because of being AU's on my cards. ( I had posted earlier it was 2 for 30,000 but I forgot she has 3 for 40,000.)

I have about cleaned my credit up except for a IRS judgement paid in 99, but it will be there for many more years. (Don't know if I'll ever get to 800)

Actually I think everyone realizes that this post was ment to add a little humor into the otherwise very serious subject of Credit.

If I could make a suggestion for the board....add spell chek.

Dude. If you guys have been together that long and plan to stay together, then marry her. She sounds like a good woman.

To me, it is putting your money where your mouth is. Either you are comitted, or you are not. I don't buy the "it's only a piece of paper" argument. It is your word, your promise, your bond.

Here at CN, we often tells CA's, "Put it is writing". I like the one person who's tag line for CA's is "What can't you say say on the phone that you can't put on paper?".

Even though sometime the taxes and liabilites of marriage seem to discourage it, there are benefits. Should something happen to one of you, the other is in a much better legal position to exert their spousal rights.

    Congratulations.

Well Cable I know you are very sincere in your advice, and I appreciate it, but It's hard to give advice without all the facts. (And even with all the facts sometimes)

    That is.....

Maybe she dosen't want to marry me....
    Maybe she is married.....
    Maybe I am married.....
Maybe I was married for 34 years and it failed, and I'm afraid to fail again.....
Maybe there are IRS problems, and I don't want to get her involved.....
Maybe I think she is to good for me......
    etc, etc, etc.....

But you are right, she is a very good person, we have a wonderful relationship, and things will work out for the best as they always do. (Sometimes it's really hard to believe that.)

Happy Holidays to you and yours, and all on CN, and next year I'm gonna get back to solving credit problems.

Howdy fellow Louisianian, (I think that is how it's spelled, and I do think that is a word)

Shame on you for not marrying that good woman!! :)

I know there are things we don't know.

I don't mean to mind your business, but I just had to jump in ;-), and I wanted to say hi to someone else from Louisiana!!!!

Happy Holidays to you and yours, and to everyone on Creditnet!!!!!!

I like your tagline, but I betcha someone is really gonna think people from Louisiana and/or you/we really do sleep in swamps ;-)

    ;-)

My dad used to tell me "There's nothing like a woman with a paycheck!"

I guess in this case you could say "There's nothing like a woman with a credit score of 800+!"

I know it is a bit chauvinistic, but it's just a joke...

what you say.....marry dat woman....she want me to get a pair of shoes, cut my long hair, shave my beard, get rid of my pet alligators, trade my pirogue for a car, and change my diet from sweet potatoes, possum, mud bugs (crawfish), and bathe more than once a week.

But hey, I am working on getting her civilized, and as soon as I do I'm gonna marry dat woman. (Now you know the rest of the story)

    That's great (laughing through tears).

You know as well as I do that once a week is TOO many times a week to take a bath.

If you use a Pirogue out of water, you will need shoes (that road is hot on the feet).

Beards aren't bad, unless you keep food in it.

Sweet potatoes aren't bad, unless they're raw, and full of bugs.

I ain't touching the aligator part, because I don't need shoes, belt, purse, etc..........

    LOL.......

By the way everyone, my post is a JOKE, I already have shoes!!!!

...you know miss Manequinne, the same thing can be said about Louisiana politics.... not bad, just a little mischievous........:).

.....this eggnog is good....come to think about it, I do believe I was having a sip when I started this post.

That must be some darn good eggnog, because the last time I checked, ALMOST everyone involved in our state that is involved in politics was VERY BAD not mischevious at all.........;-)

P.S. Only crooked politicians from Louisiana can be offended by my post ;-)

    LOL..............
