I just got off the phone with capone...I was asking for a CL increase...she said they would except I was over my limit in the last 6 months...I acted like I didn't know that and asked her how much it was over. She said, it was at a gas station for $4 over. Then she went on to tell me that they only charge $1 at the gas pump, then the full amount goes through a few days later. She said that was why I was over...and she refunded me a $29 overlimit fee without me even asking....and this happened Feb 2002...I am impressed. That and she said call back after 9/14/02 (after the 6 month review period) and Iwould get my increase.

PFB Mr. Cooke and you will get the increase NOW.

I have gone over a few dollars and had the fee reversed.

i would wait a week and pfb him.

No need to wait for 6 more months.

CapOne standard VISA, says 'Cyberize!' on it. $500 limit (secured with $50 and has a $19 annual fee).

Do card companies do a hard inquiry when you ask for a credit line increase? I'm wondering if they simply go by your history with them, or if they check to see if your credit is good enough

I PFB'ed Mr. Cooke for a CL increase -- next day he called and said he took care of the situation. In 2 days I got the increase I requested (500 to 1.5k).
    No CRA inquiry.

Already marked my calendar for Feb '03 to request another increase!

I sent a letter today via PFB and this evening when I got home, I had a message from Mr. Cooke on my answering machine and he also emailed me. I was actually shocked to hear back so soon! He does sound very nice. I will post the outcome tomorrow when I call him back.

Well the outcome is that Mr. Cooke said "NO". He said they gave me an increase of 500.00 and I would have to wait 6 months from that date to get another increase. He was very nice btw. Oh well, I had to try.
