Thread: Hard Inquiries within days?

On 6/16,6/17, and 6/24/02 American General Hard hit my credit file... and on 9/29 and 9/30/02 three different banks hard hit my file when I was getting a car. Can I dispute these 6 hard inq's?

The cars - you *probably* signed something that allowed the dealership to shop you.

Do you know at all what the American General was for?

Yes, American General was a $3000 loan for the engagement ring I bought. I thought that credit hits within a couple days of each other for the same attempt to obtain credit could be removed down to a single hard hit.

Surely, American General would remove the other two if you made a reasonable request.

Maybe you can try a goodwill letter of sorts to them.
