I would like to buy a car in the next six months. Currently my beacons are at 584 and 577. Is there anyway I can get them up above 600 in six months. My mortgage tradeline isn't showing up, yet and I am wondering if this will give my score a little bump.

That's difficult to answer without knowing your credit history. If you have credit cards with high balances you may want to pay those down to below 50% utilization or pay them off. A couple months with low balances on your cards should bump your scores.

Why isn't your mortgage showing up? Is it new? If it is you should be okay when it does show up. 6 months of good payment history and no inquiries on your reports should do the trick even if you have some lates on there from the past ;)

    Thanks, SoParkDiva!

I don't have any credit cards. Yes, my mortgage is new. I haven't even made the first payment and it has already been sold, LOL. At any rate, that sounds like a plan. When it shows up, and I pay it on time for six months, hopefully that will give me a jump. Most of the derogatory information on my report aren't revolving credit or loans. They are stupid utility bills that were sent to collections agencies. I also have one huge tradeline (less than 2K) that will drop off in 2004, so hopefully that will give me a boost as well. I have some slowpays within the last year on my student loans and unfortunately, my inquiries are pretty high after just getting a loan.

    Thanks, again!

    Your very welcome! :D

Those slow pays should not hurt you due to their age and in 6 months those inquiries won't count - providing you don't add anymore.
