Has anyone heard of http://www.attorneycreditrepair.com/???? Are they legit??? Are they effective???

The back story: Long story short:

I was unable to find employment, obviously fell behind on 2 Bank of America credit cards (among other things). They cut off the cards, offered me a payment plan. I had further financial difficulties and fell behind again. I spoke with customer service, explained my situation. They put me on a electronic payment plan $120 for one card, $60 for the other. I asked the rep if the delinquency had been reported to my credit, told him I was concerned and he assured me that it had not been reported to my credit. I told him I did not have the money to catch up the months I was behind. I was told that this was not a problem as long as I make the payments each month. I consistently had the agreed upon payments debited from my account for several years, not knowing that BofA has been reporting each month that I am behind on payments by 6mos for the past few years, despite my monthly payments. My understanding is that they are supposed to inform you if they are reporting negative info. to your credit ESPECIALLY if you specifically ask them. I have since paid off the higher balance of the 2 credit cards. Yet bank of America will NOT budge on how they are reporting it to my credit. Another complicating factor is that my mother is the co-signer on the higher balance credit card so her credit report was damaged as well and it is preventing her form getting a line of credit for some business ventures. SEVERAL attempts to remedy the situation w/ Bank of America on my own have been unsuccessful. Not sure what to do. Considering an attorney.

No Credit Repair Service Can Do Anything That You Can't Do For Yourself!

It's a violation of Federal Law for them to imply that they can.

It's (a) cheaper, and (b) more effective to do it yourself.

Was your mother a co-applicant, or an AU?

When was the account finally paid off?

I don't remember my mother's status on the card. I just remember that she was on the phone with me when the card details were being finalized. The higher balance card was paid off a couple weeks ago. The other one will be paid off next month.

The FCRA requires a notice that they intend to report negative information, unfortunately, however, that is typically provided in disclaimers on the terms, or back of statements.

Unless they are reporting falsely, it could be hard to get them to budge.

Are there any errors in the reporting?

Yes, the person may have told you that they won't report negative information, over the phone, but if it's not in writing, it didn't happen.

This is why you need to memorialize phone conversations, or better yet, cut phone communications off completely.

Prophesee- I'm wondering if you're willing to come back and give us an update on how this played out for you? Were you ever able to make any progress with Bank of America on your own, or did you end up hiring an attorney?

If you have other more current questions we can help with, I would love to try and provide some guidance. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
