Oh boy. I thought I would share this in hopes of helping someone else avoid this, and to ask the help of anyone here who knows how I can handle this:

I just changed my address on Exp. from my actual address to my mailbox. (Not a P.O. Box, but it is a mail service, sort of like Mailboxes, ETC.). I just looked online, and it says at the bottom that the address could be a "High-Risk" because it is not a physical address. It goes on to say that it is actually a mail service address. If I would have known that, I would have just left the other address on the report (that had mistakes and several entries with variations of the same address). Now, I am not sure what to do! The new address was already on my report, just not my CURRENT address, but now that I made it my CURRENT one, they have added this note at the bottom of my report. I am wondering if this had anything to do with the fact that I disputed a few items...

I just did not want my physical address on there for whoever to see... Plus, from reading info on the board, I though it wold be best to delete most old addresses, which is what I did.

I did a search here, and had no luck in finding any situation similar to mine, and I would appreciate all help in what I can and should do here.

Should I wait a while, then call back and have them add my physical address?

    I appreciate all help!

    Thank you in advance!

I've used my mailbox etc address for 5 years. Never been a problem.

Really? I guess maybe now they have a system that can determine whether or not it is a physical home address.

EVERY-SINGLE ADDRESS IS IN A COMPUTER...

It tells if it is a BUSINESS (AND TYPE OF BUSINESS) or HOUSE or APARTMENT or TRI-PLEX or DUPLEX or MAIL POST OFFICE BOX BUILDING or WHAT-EVER KIND OF BUILDING

HAVING A PO BOX MAKES ONE A HIGHER RISK???

IS THAT LIKE POOR CREDIT MAKES ONE A POOR DRIVER EVEN IF THEY NEVER HAD A...
    TICKET???
    ACCIDENT???
    CLAIM???

    Re: "High-Risk" Address On CR???

I received my Citibank statement at a friend's PO Box for a while because my physical address wasn't permanent. The PO Box is among my old addresses, with no notations or warnings.

My current address is probably higher-risk than the PO Box. Here's why: when I moved into the apartment about 5 years ago, the previous occupants had left under arrest by the Secret Service, US Department of the Treasury. I have a relatively new door because the previous one was broken down by federal agents. The crime involved was...credit card fraud.

BTW, those parasitic criminals were [religious and ethnic slur deleted by Creditnet]. Try to tell me it doesn't make a difference.

You could call them without waiting and tell them the mailboxes address was just a short term one and you are now back at your physical address and ask them to update their records. That should do it.

The other thing that will often update your address in their records is one of your accounts doing their monthly update. If that account still has your old address the CRA may revert back to reporting the old address as the current one.

ONE OF YOUR PAID OFF OR CLOSED ACCOUNTS PROBABLY STILL HAS THE PO BOX ON FILE AS YOUR ADDY, THATS WHY IT IS THERE.

TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT FROM THE CREDITORS LISTED ON YOUR REPORT...

Brilliant idea! Thanks, DemPooches! I will do just what you suggested-- I'll say it was short term.

I had them delete my actual address, but I think it won't be a problem when I call them back to add it again, using the "short-term" idea! Thanks again- I feel better now! :)

The same for me. By the way I am not living in the US anymore. The only problem is when I apply for a new card, I ussually have to fax an statement or Dr license to verify my address

There are some people that live in RURAL areas that are told by the POST OFFICE that they MUST have a PO BOX because the POST OFFICE DOES NOT DELIVER!!!

THE CRA's GONNA' ARGUE WITH THE POST OFFICE ABOUT WHAT A LEGAL AND ILLEGAL ADDRESS IS??? HIGH RISK AND LOW RISK ADDRESSES???

    RichGuy,
YOU must be a real [Terms of Service violation deleted by Creditnet], to say the least, to carry such a broad generalization to the public, on this board. Being a muslim, a Black, a White or Hispanic doesn't make of you a criminal. [Terms of Service violations deleted by Creditnet]

    Bela,

Thanks for showing us how tolerant you are. Threatening us with another 9/11 was an extra touch of compassion that we all appreciate.

To call me a criminal was absolutely insane. You have no credibility or integrity whatsoever.
