    A student loan?

Also, it seems I never did get my paper credit report (or I list it) from Equifax, so I viewed it online on my CreditKarma account and the names of CA's are different than on my paper reports from Experian and TransUnion, and on my CreditKarma report there are no account numbers nor any contact info from any of the adverse accounts.

I'm about to start writing my debt validation letters and then opening my disputes, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to include information on what exactly is 'wrong' on the report (ie, "It says the account number is xxxx, but it's actually yyyy) or if I"m supposed to keep it 'vague' and I'm also unclear on if I'm supposed to write that there is incorrect info in the validation letter or the dispute, or both.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Everyone has their own particular style for how they want to do their validation letters.

The best caselaw is explained by Butch in the thread http://consumers.creditnet.com/Discussions/showthread.php?t=42188 . The sample validation in that example was sent through their attorney that
Although covered in legalese, it says NOTHING about anything that may or may not be wrong with the account.

My personal preference is for the first validation letter to dispute the debt in it's entirety.

IF they provide validation; or if there is another issue at play, such as Subsequent CA Strategy, or a factual dispute of the amount in whole or in part, THEN I follow up raising those issues.

In the case of Subsequent CA Strategy, a draft suit for violating the FDCPA validation clause, and the false and misleading representation that the assignment of the account to the new CA subjects me to actions prohibited by the FDCPA, the resumption of debt collection activities before the previous CA obtained and mailed the validation. :)

Hey Fl2BoysMom- did you ever find out what was up with the collection/charge off your student loan that was never late? What happened with your debt validation letters that you sent off?

When you have a minute, it would be great to hear an update on your situation, and I'd love to try and help out if you have other questions that have popped up along the way. Hope to hear from you soon!
