I have made two major mistakes...both, of course before joining this site. The first was a common sense issue; I sent a letter demanding a statement to good ol' Gulf Sux (LKH and others may remeber this), but I DID NOT DATE IT! I got my return receipt and my fax confirmations, but still, I gave them 30 days, the faxes are confirmed 1/11 and the CRRR is signed and dated 1/14. The other mistake is that I settled with Arrow Fin. for my JCP acct., AND I LOST THEIR LETTER!!

Am I Hopeless? Is there any bouncing back? Please help.

Trina

P.S. On the up side, I haven't heard from GS since.

1) No your receipt will serve as the date they received it...actually the date on your letter is worthless unless notarized. So no harm no foul.

2) YOU LOST IT!!!!!???? I assume you mean a letter settling for deletion of the entry...if you mean you lost the settlement letter no HUGE deal...if they had a letter drawn up, ask them to send you a copy...do you have the names and number of the people you spoke to? If however, you mean you lost the settlement letter for deletion to the CRA's...YOU LOST IT!!??!?? FIND IT! :) I'd be searching every nook and cranny...maybe the people you settled with will be nice enough to send you another letter for a bigger settlement :)

-Peace, Dave

Re: I screwed up..any hope left?

Thanks for making feel better!!

1. I figured the green card was the valid expiration date, but didn't know.
2. Arrow was just for settlement; they actually approached me. I still have an old letter with the rep's name and extension. I just thought that losing that letter would be a roadblock in cleaning up my credit.
