I sent a cease and desist to a collection agency and they have stopped contacting me but they still haven't removed the negative mark from my credit report. It has been almost a year now since I sent it to them. The amount is under $200 and I don't owe them anything. Is there something I can do to get this removed? I asked the Credit Bureau to investigate and they simply added "Account in disput under Fair Credit Billing Act" but its been almost a year and they haven't removed it yet.

The status details on my credit report says that it was verified and updated almost a year ago. Did they just ignore me? What should I do now? Thanks for the help.

Sounds like the C&D did exactly what it was supposed to, it is not supposed to effectuate deletion, only to cease contact under the FDCPA.

So you have disputed, and the CRA(s) have verified...have you sent validation letters to the CA that you sent the C&D to? That would be my next step if I were in your shoes. You might also send procedural request letters to the CRA's. Validation is a KEY step in the process that you may have missed. The good news is they STILL have to validate in order to continue reporting. They can NOT validate a debt that is wrong, so you should be able to get some satisfaction through validation.
