For some reason I keep running into people that actually pay this company money to help them with their credit. Aparently all they do is send people a letter so they can dispute things. Why hasn't this company been shut down by the FTC? The letters are so funny and they have typed all of the bad accounts with the NOT MINE checked in the column beside it. I have never seen anyone that paid them for their 'services' have dispute notiations on their experian reports. Any of you all seen this stuff?

    Dear Longhair,

There's nothing illegal about a Credit Repair Organization, as long as the act within the law.

Trouble is they pretty much just bombard the CRA's with dispute letters. Usually as "not mine", the easiest one to verify. lol

You're much better off doing this stuff on your own, unless you're REALLY hurting for time, and even then ...

The main reason I say this is because of the tremendous education you'll get by going through this process yourself. No-one but you is likely to devote the love and attention that this deserves.

    Welcome Aboard.

Oh I know. I am doing it myself. I am a broker and I run into these people that have paid these people for nothing. As far as illegal, the one thing I wonder about is that thing in the credit repair organizations act about false statements. I dont beleve the consumer told them people that these accounts wasn't theirs. I mean, how can they really believe EVERY negative item on a report ISN'T THEIRS. Then you have 'prepaid' for credit repair services and the licesnce issuies as well.

I believe several state AG's have gone after ICR services. It's MLM, also, BTW. Sign up, you are an expert overnight, LOL.
