The TX FDCPA was amended, effective 9/1/2003. Good grief where was I? http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlo/78R/billtext/SB00533F.HTM There are also some security freeze options, although you have to file a police report to be able to access them . I discovered this as the CRA's have a new requirement to notify us of this. The one I got from TU seems to not interpret the new law correctly (Aw go figure!) as it does not mention that you have to send a copy of complaint, police report, etc. http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/cgi-...&BILLTYPE=B&BILLSUFFIX=00473&VERSION=5&TYPE=B Happy reading!
Experian is in Texas. I wonder if changes in state law affect how they behave. I notice the words "or credit burea" was lined through a lot in those changes.
Re: Re: If You are in TX - Cr Law changes Its not a bad thing. IMHO the statute didn't make sense that 392 included credit bureaus. If you read thru the old version, they actually could write and say they "needed more time", delete the info, and then basically reinsert it at will. CRA's are covered under Chapter 20.
