Hey everyone, as you all know I have 3 postive tradelines. One being my glorious Macy's which was brought back from the dead (R9 to R1) by a very kind gentleman at Macys. Now when this account charged off, I only had a line of 100.00 that was 6 years ago. I have now had the re-opened account for 3 months and made 3 payments. I call Macy's today as per their instructions on waiting 3 months and ask for an incr. I call today and ask for one. The CSR puts me hold for like 7 mins. (I timed it) comes back and says my Supervisor is reviewing your account. (I am like damn, here it comes) after the next hold period of 4 mins. The CSR says, Mr. Banger after reviewing your account and seeing that it was restored in the last three months we at this time can only grant you an incr. of 200, making your limit 300.00. (I was like thank you and see you in your store when we need some baby clothes) so the moral to this story is pay on time with macys wait three payments and ask for an incr. I will be making three more payments before XMAS to hopefully arrive in the new year with a limit of 500.00, To some this may seem like not much. But to those of us who refuse a subprime card and wish to work our way back to glory, it is everything. thank you board.
One thing I have to say about Macys is that when they have a sale they have a sale. we got a Damask sofa cover that was regularly 329 for 89 bucks that is a sale to me! Macy's look for us, our baby will be needing some items in the next what do all parents say forever. so keep uping the limit.
Banger, Do you know if you are having a boy or girl? Our son has grown out of his 3,6,9 month outfits if you or anyone else could use them. Martig4
Daddy's little girl. I cannot wait. Credit Repair is more about her than it is me. I have to make sure she has everything she needs. I do not want her to ever go without. Martig4 thanks so much for your kind offer, if by chance we have a boy, I'll email you, after I ANNOUCE on the board. But boy (no pun intended) would macys be mad. I would be shopping with Martig4's not macys (lol)
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc Congrats! Here's the scoop on Macy's credit increases: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=188006 Saar
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc The sincere gratitude felt by someone who has had credit problems in the past but is trying to overcome them does show that it is often worth it for the dept stores to take a chance and grant small credit limits. The new cardholders are so greatful to get any credit limit at all that they will continue to use the stores even as their credit improves and can make other choices. It certainly is worth it for macys to give a small credit limit for the chance of making a new customer. I think macys made a smart decision and I'm glad that they were able to help you.
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc Saar thanks for the info, I will make two more payments and call in Mid-October to see if I can get another one. If they pull EX, I hopefully will be fine.
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc I had a Macy's charge off, and I have been thinking about contacting them to open it up. It was about 8 years ago. Who did you call?
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc Call 800.456.9529 ask for ext. 38257, His name is Brian Glardon. He is a pretty fair guy and keeps his word. Hope it helps
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc Actually I noticed that Credit Center (as opposed to Credit Granting) will frequently waive the 3-month requirement. You can probably just call CC now and complain that CG gave you too small an increase compared to the value of purchase you have in mind. Saar
Re: Increase in CL, and what an inc I just tried they said no due to the hard they pulled in July, my report was worse then. Anyway the CSR said call back in 3 months and ask again. She said they did not pull anything. Thank God. I will wait until Nov/Dec amd try again. For another 300. Thanks again.
