CREDITNET TESTIMONIALS

Success stories abound, but are sprinkled throughout this site, making them hard to find.

Wouldn't it be helpful to have one place to put testimonials about how CN has helped you, so we can easily locate them (and bump when necessary) for newer memebrs!?!?

Dmplz618 gets the first one.

-Thank You CreditNetters!!!

It took me 1 1/2 years to accomplish this task but I did it with all of your help.
Huge Congrats Dmplz!

No one knows more about where your testimonial is than you, so you might just want to go find your own success story and copy/paste it in here.

These are my successes so far, im pretty close to done. These are ONLY the successes I posted. Most gratitude to this site:

6-21-03
Wow!
I got some good news from Equi-freaky....
8 Inquiries gone!

funny since they just sent me a letter asking for more ID stuff...

this is my first ever deletion, im pretty psyched!

thanks Cnet

7-19-03
Im writing this because the most useful threads Ive read are the ones that start from the beginning and show the final result.

This ended with deletion of all 3 Credit Bureaus and Chex.[

Its not the ultimate ending, I had to pay the 140, but it is positive.

I only hope this helps others.

I never would have pursued this except for knowledge and courage ive learned here...

9-5-03
Experian deleted 2 paid CO's!

Im psyched

i expected the one i just threw the other into the mix cuz, well, why not!

I expect(hope) the other 2 CRA's follow suit.

Im really tempted to spend a little and check my FICO scores for all 3. Im afraid it may deflate me cuz i just opened 2 new accounts and have 4 new inquiries.

Only thing left on all 3 is a paid to Credit Protection Associates for approx $150. These guys are bastards about it, i disputed with cra's once and they just updated as paid. Nutcase or Dancerat technique?

Any thoughts?

Again, thanks Cnet

9-26-03
I received a fax back 2 days later saying the tradeline will be deleted from all Credit Bureau's!

special thanks to DanceRat

THIS SITE IS INFORMATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, AND OFFERS REAL-LIFE INFORMATION. ITS AWESOME!

Thanks for allowing me to quantify this...

Ok I'm game.

When I started my credit repair I was pretty much clueless till I found this site.

I was stuck at a 545 (ick) and couldn't even open up a checking account my score was so low.

Now, a year later my scores average in the 720-750 range depending on what all is showing.

Got 3 new CC's. Waiting for another year to roll around so I can get an AMEX BLUE.

Then I'll call it quits!

When I found Creditnet I was in the low 500's
and had about 17 really bad derogs including some
judgments and collections. That was in Oct 2002.
In August of this year I got my fico up close to 700
and was able to get a pretty decent conventional mortgage to buy my house. This month I'm closing
on another mortgage loan, this time for an investment property. I still have 2 stubborn derogs that are a few months from falling off. My score is in the low 700's :)

It took a lot of letter writing, burning some midnite oil a couple of lawsuits and quite a bit of grief but I got it done.

My advice: Pay cash whenever you can, stay out of debt, live within your means and put some money away every month for a rainy day.

THANKS CREDITNET!

Found this site late in 2002 after a chapter 7 discharge. I lived on this site for months using every trick I could find. Three months later, I had my first house with an FHA loan. I found an endless supply of tips, tricks and advise and I'm still looking.

THANKS TO ALL, BOTH PAST AND CURRENT!

I'll bite, but I don't have any huge success stories like a house yet. DH's scores were in the 400's and mine in the 5's. I'm stalled right now as I have recent (1 yr old) CO's that I'm saving money for. BUT!

My small success was just the other day. I called as it has been 1 year since I started an auto policy - I found out we were rated at R on a scale of A-Z, but they reran our cr's and we are now way up the scale, and our auto policy is going from $310 per month to a little over $100 per month!!!!!!!!!! That's $200 a month I can put in the cookie jar for my CO's.

Hey George, I know your thoughts on cr's and car insurance, but I thought I'd mention, they pulled a soft.

FWIW even though my job is not done yet, thanks to CNET I do know how to get the job done!

I started my credit repair in early 2002. I didn't know about this site until 5 months ago and creditboards was not up and running until a year after I started. I got alot of bad information about credit repair and rebuilding through other places.

My FICO scores were in the lower 400's, I have a FICO score printed out that says 424 from early 2002. I can't say I owe it all to creditnet but I wish I would have found this site early on. Bad advise here will be corrected right away, unlike other places. I could have saved myself months of trouble that I read other places. I only post my scores to show others what can be achieved here with alot of work.

Creditnet rocks though!!!

went from all low 500's..
to mid 600's (high utilization, the installment loans, and many semi-new accounts making stuff low..along with a few new looking medical TL's hehe)

i could get no credit cards, had to get a car loan at 19%..ouch...tons of negative TL's from 1997 on up.

But now I only have a few negatives left, they are medical.

without being too specific, thanks to CreditNet members i now have:
3 mastercards 2 with 3k limits, 1 with only 600
2 retail cards , one 4k limit, the other 1k
2 gas cards, 300 dollar limits each
2 personal unsecured loans
1 personal secured loan
1 car financed at 0% interest through gmac

thanks butch.
one bit of advice I'd give anyone starting out on the credit-cleaning journey is ...PATIENCE. It don't get better overnight.

OK, Here is my testimony.
My name is Voodochild I once went by the name gilliner on Creditnet. I was lucky enough to wander into this website. I still dont remember how I was Beamed into this magical place. But thank goodness!
With the knowledge and inspiration from this board along with true dedication, I was able to move three mountains, Mount. Equifax, Mount. Experian and last but not least Mount. Trans Union. Not to mention the undesirable land marks such as Wells Fargo Ridge, NCO Bluff, etc. were leveled along the way..

***********************************************************************************
Before (when I was laughed at by the Mortgage Broker and my car loan was only open positive)
************************************************************************************

Now my family’s life is much easier. We own our home and getting credit is no longer a concern. Of all of the negative marks listed above, only CAP 1’s paid charge off remains listed on EXP. Most of the items were scheduled to fall off in the middle of next year. I am glad I took the initiative. I was lucky to have some older positive TLs listed on all of the CRs some were not mine the belonged to mom and dad. I have not checked my FICO scores lately, but
Experian ce is 667 (one neg) , PG whatever eq score is 689 and TU report received in the mail yesterday is still clean but No score.
I have gone crazy in the past few weeks with applying so that might explain my scores a little

I have………

GM------------------------------$5000
Amex Delta Skymiles----------$2000
Target Visa----------------------$700

Chevron-------------------------$400
Shell-----------------------------$300 (they checked exp boo..hiss.. but something is better than nothing)

I am at a 36% utilization. I need to just lay off of the applying and just hang out and pay it all off.
Thank you all Creditnetters past and present . I certainly have been missing a few who haven’t posted in while.
(Since the "arbitrarily make a few members the board moderators" scandal.)

Great thread, Butch, I hope they add it to the Hall of Fame after it bulks up with a few more testimonials! I'll add mine:

I found this site in 2001. When I began my credit repair journey my official FICO score was in the low 560s. A year later all my scores were in the mid-700s. I should also add that I was a satisfied Lexington Law Firm client for the first half of 2001 as well, and they managed quite a few deletions.

While I'm at it, I'd like to say that my best Creditnet teachers were Lizardking (who taught me about small claims lawsuits), marci (who taught me the power of the Goodwill approach), breeze (who taught me too much stuff to list and managed to defend me at a couple of critical points when I was a green newbie), Bill Bauer (aka bbauer and Creditwrench, who taught me how to be a serious nuisance through several generous telephone calls and basically inspired the Nutcase series I later disseminated), and LKH (who just basically encouraged my efforts time and again back in the good old days). I'm probably leaving somebody out... By the way, I understand that my list of teachers isn't everyone's, and some don't agree with each other, and at least one is controversial to boot -- but I've always been my own thinker, and these indeed are the people I love and appreciate for helping me to succeed.

Who'll be next with their testimonial? :)

Doc

I'm new to the board, and I'm so thankful I found it! Of all the different boards out there, this one is the easiest to navigate and has the most helpful info and letter templates around.

I started on my credit repair in 2001, but put no effort into it. It was a half-hearted attempt, and it showed. I stumbled onto CreditNet's in August of 2003, and using its resources, my credit has improved so much in only two months that I've since been approved for two "regular" credit cards! I used the Estoppel letters and ITS fax found on this board and got 3 paid collections deleted from my reports as well. My credit scores have improved 50+ points from all the tactics I've put to work that I learned here. I still have to work to do; don't get me wrong, but I'm far more confident about the work ahead of me

The knowledge and experience this board has to offer is the BEST. THANK YOU!!!!

OK, my meager testimonial follows.

I plunged headfirst into my credit repair for the first time this May. I had substantial work to do since the folly of my youth and a habit of ignoring CC bills had left quite a soiled credit history. Looking back, i had about 7-8 negative items. They ranged from inappropriate inquiries, 2 charge off's, and the rest were either late pays, collection accounts or my favorite, late collection accounts! :) anywho, for under a grand and in 4 mo time I got all of these entirely accurate items removed. I even got apology letters from the worst offenders!

I owe a tremendous debt to those on this board who provided info, a sounding board, or a contrary opinion for whatever issue was at hand. Going from mid 500's to mid 700's feels so good. I wouldn't have thought it possible.

All this from getting a random email from a friend mentioning letters only nut cases send, authored by you-know-who. Thanks all!

colorful. I've been around for several years. went from nada (baddies galore) to well over 200K (lost count a while ago) in visa/amex/discover/mastercard/loc's.

fun stuff. With hard work and patience anyone can do the same. My wife has like 175K in lines, and a better score than me (less inqs). About 2 yrs of credit history total.

pretty cool board ;) I still hang around but have gotten bored of getting new cards these days and some are starting to complain about my total open lines so its time to buckle down and close some lame cards.

What great histories.

Me:

Neither borrower nor lender be, so said Mom & Dad. So I took their advice to heart. That philosophy and a seven-year residence in Germany evolved into almost completely blank credit reports. 5 years ago, I went to the hospital and racked up some huge bills, which insurance paid at 100%. The hospital admin. offices, and their profoundly efficient employees, misappropriated the money. Well ... you guessed it, numerous huge collection accounts on my CR's without my knowledge. I had to find out about it with a routine credit pull. My scores were 640 - 650.

Whether your TL's are legitimate or not they are never the less equally difficult to deal with. As far as our adversary is concerned if their computer says you owe money then, you owe money. lol

8 months later, my average score was 780. I almost even made the 800 club but had some utilization. I get 5 prime offers a day. After buying the foxy Mrs. Butch a new Grand Prix, (fully loaded of course) we are now house shopping, and may very well move to Hawaii. We're taking a 14 day cruise by sea in December to "see if we like it." LOL

It takes time and patience. But there are few things you can do for yourself that will be of more benefit to you and your families future.

What you'll learn here will affect the rest of your financial life.

Keep up the great work CN.

:)

I can attest to just about everyone's satisfaction. Just recently, I won a small claims verdict against the evil Experian. Didn't get all the money I wanted, but I got what I needed. I also was awared injunctive relief.

I couldn't have done this without the support and advice of my fellow Credit Netters. Thanks millions (or at least hundreds)!

Butch,

Are you taking your computer on that cruise? If not, we need to know what the withdrawal symptoms are (from CN, of course).

OK, since I asked a silly question, I guess I need to add my testimonial.

I found this site several years ago. We went to refinance our house and found out there was a chargeoff from Coldata on my husband's report.

We knew he didn't have a chargeoff, he didn't even have his own cards at that time. So I set out to do research on Coldata and found a site full of info. A few months later I went to that site and it had been combined into this one.

I got interested and started out to read every post on this board. I read for over a year, but of course never got entirely through. I read over 20 month's worth of posts before I started posting.

I never have finished reading the whole board, maybe after I retire!!
