JDB assigns multiple CA's?

If JDB assigns CA, CA reports on report, no contact other than 'that' with consumer, then at some point in future the consumer is contacted by a different CA, the debt is no longer assigned to original CA and therefore cannot continue to report, correct?

Anyone have any experience where CA #1 continues to report till you dispute through CRA.

My understanding is that JDB's can't assign same debt to multiple CA's at once, right?

Right, however the account may not get deleted automatically.

Thanks jam. That's the case. Do you suggest dispute through the CRA, or sending a letter to the CA.

Here's how I have done it in the past... I had one account that was funneled through 4 CAs within a WEEK... i.e. "Hot Potato"

    OC sold to JDB.
JDB1 reports (but it doesn't appear for a week).
    JDB1 sells account to JDB2.
    JDB2 sells account to JDB3.
    JDB3 sends a dunning letter.
JDB1 appears on my credit report.
    JDB3 sells account to JDB4.

So at one time, 2 JDBs were claiming to own the account at the same time.

Now, I am good enough with the phone to do this over the phone, I wouldn't advise that to the faint of heart. :)

But, I basically called the OC, they gave me JDB1's information, called JDB1, they gave me JDB2's information, I then sent JDB1 and ITS for reporting false credit information, and not providing the requisite notices, then disputed their reporting with the CRA; called JDB2, they gave me JDB3's information, called JDB3, and they gave me JDB4's information...

Now, do you think with as murky as the water was made with their game of Hot Potato, JDB4 wanted anything to do with it when they received a letter claiming that JDB1 and JDB4 were both simultaneously attempting to collect the debt, and the easiest way to settle the matter would be to sue them all and let a judge sort it out. :)

    Murky indeed :)

Thankfully for those of us who are a bit more faint of the heart, my situation has less curves with only one JDB, and two CA's. One of which went bye-bye real quick after being enlightened of the errors of their ways. I'm not quite done with them yet though, they have a little surprise coming their way ;)

I'm in the processs of writing up another love letter, this one to the CA that is reporting (silently, never a notice or call from them ever), asking them to go away....politely, of course.
