Does incorrectly reporting a paid/collection as Paid Settlement/Legally paid for half for two years instead of paid (in full and then some lol) collection fall under the realm of the Doctrine of Estoppel???

wouldnt I be damaged more by one vs the other??

I do not think so. Estoppel is a bar that prevents them from reporting based on something like their inaction or silence on the matter.

It does however fall under violations of the FCRA in that all items on your report must be 100% accurate. That item is incorrectly reported. So who verifies the info, have you validated (although paid accounts are harder to get validation it is still their duty to validate all information)

They updated the report to showed paid and apologized for misreporting the tradeline. They refused to remove. They have separated each bill out so I have 3 $20 items, $65 item and a 135 and 229. I was thinking about sending a letter that combines the I paid under duress (pending lawsuit), validation, and then estoppel for misreporting it after I thought they had removed it 2 years ago when I paid it. What do you think??
