My report is showing the following CLOSED COLLECTION ACCOUNT for an account with an original DOLA of 5/2008.

Has anyone dealt with a collection account reporting CLOSED, with no other assignees reporting...yet?

Can I assume they assigned it to Midland or someone who will come after me (although they are SOL) when I try to dispute/validate?

It looks like they assigned the account to a second CA.

I have never seen them handle an account themselves.

Which actually is stupid legally, because its an automatic violation of both the FDCPA for not providing the required notices, and FCRA for not providing the notices that they are reporting adverse information.
