I felt like doing a mail call, since we haven't done it in a while. Maybe someone can help me interpret this letter. I recently sent Doc's paid creditor letter to The Credit Bureau. They are not only a TU associate, but they are a CA too. In the mail today, I get a letter that says: Dear Erica, The account for: Name of creditor Account number: 2327XXX With a balance of: $261.00 ****HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL**** THIS ACCOUNT WAS PAID IN FULL ON 3-01-00 The collection reported on your creditfile will be updated as follows: Equifax 30 days Experian 30 days Trans Union 30 days Should you have any questions, please call our collection department at 716-256-XXXX. Thank You, Mrs West Collection Department **THE PURPOSE OF THIS LETTER IS TO COLLECT A DEBT, AND ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED AS A RESULT OF THIS CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE USED FOR THAT PURPOSE. Any suggestions?
Hi Erica, I would interpret that to mean that the CA thinks you want the account updated as paid and they will send such notice to Ex,TU, and Eq within 30 days (the next cycle of automatic updates I assume). I am not sure whether they will update as Paid, and remove the derogatory listing. I think they are saying it will be updated to reflect a Paid In Full Collection account (which it already does). You will have to pull your reports in 35 days to check and see, or you could call Mrs West and ask...Maybe you lucked out on this one! But I think they are just telling you they will update it to reflect its paid status. Got my fingers crossed for you...hope all is well with you and SS. -Peace, Dave
Ok, thanks, Dave. I was just hoping that she would have read the letter. Basically what I sent was a validation letter to a paid creditor. I'll have to pull them again and see what the dealio is. SS is well, thanks for asking. How's the city? and the buildings?
