I have an Amoco/BP and Radio Shack cards that have been open since 96. The wife has little older revolving credit - how much will adding her as an AU help her out. The Rat Shack card has 1 30 day late from early 2000 - will that hurt her? Do they report EVERYTHING on her file from before? I am really not sure how and what effect adding an AU has - any resources? Thanks.
You inherit the whole history if in fact they report to an AU. Some don't, they require the person to be a co-applicant. Best thing to do is to call them and ask for yourself. Be specific and tell them your intentions, they do it all the time. "When you sleep with a credit card, your sleeping with every credit card that credit card has been with." Hope that helps.
