I received a notice from MBNA today and they changed my Quantum Plus Rewards Card into World Points. Here is the notice:
Great news--your Plus Rewards Mastercard credit card account is changing for the better! While your current benefits, accumulated points, and account number will remain the same, your rewards program has a new name and some great enhancements. Your Plus Rewards program is now called World Points (SM), and you now have access to cash redemption and the WorldPoints Assist (SM) personal assistance service! Best of all, your account still has No Annual Fee! See the enclosed Program Guide for details and some of the many rewards you could receive.
We've added WorldPoints Rewards to your MBNA Qunatum (SM) Mastercard to ensure that you have the most complete credit card package on the market, with the best rewards program available. You can earn 1 point for every $1 in net purchases, and redemption starts at 5,000 points!
See how quick your points can accumulate. With a recently increased credit line and countless opportunities to use your account, earning points couldn't be easier. By charging recurring expenses, such as cable TV or Internet service to your Mastercard with World Points, you'll earn points automatically every month.
Before you know it, your points will add up, and you'll have a variety of rewards from which to choose. If you add authorized users to your account, their purchases will earn you points as well and qualify you for next reward that much sooner. To add one or more authorized user to your account, call toll free at 1-888-255-6262 and mention Priority Code XXXC.
So you can get most of your Mastercard with WorldPoints, you now have 4.7% Annual Percentage Rate on credit card access checks and balance transfer through your statement closing date in June 2003. Use the enclosed checks to consolidate higher rate balances to this account, then have only one bill to pay each month.
