I closed Nextcard several months ago - and it showed "closed by Consumer Request"....I definitely wanted to avoid Merrick Bank!
I looked at my email today and saw this:

I paid for the great call to a Merrick Rep - she was nice and asked for my Nextcard acct #. I had it of course, then she said it showed the account was closed. She asked if I would like to apply for a new card - I thanked her and told her not at this time. LOL!
It worries me that this email was generated somehow...hopefully just an internal glitch at Merrick.
