Has anyone transferred a mervyn's card to a Target Card, either guest or VISA?

My scores are low, but I am in Georgia and the Mervyn's closed here several years ago, and I can use the card at Target, but was wondering if they would just convert the account, even to a guest card would be fine, without another inquiry? Has anyone done that here?

I don't think it's a problem to convert due to those circumstances, but please post your results after you call customer service.

The only thing they may say is that you can apply outright or just use the card at any store.

I didn't know you could use Mervyns at Target. You actually use it to charge there?

I visit CA once a year and buy a bit on my Mervyns since I now live in the south also. I figured that or buying gift cards was all I could do to keep that account active.

Re: Mervyn's card to Target card?

I use it at Target, however, and I am in Georgia, so this may just be here, I have not been able to pay my bill at the store. The computer/register will not process the payments, for some reason. That's another reason it would be more convenient to transfer over to the Target card. The Mervyn's is one of my few untainted credit lines, and I don't want to mess that up, or cost myself an inquiry if I don't have to. I will post the response I get from them when I call.

No, you cannot convert your Mervyns to Target, or combine credit lines, I tried. I am in Florida where the Mervyns closed also, and thats a real bummer BTW!!!

I had been using my Mervyns card at Target, but Target will not accept Mervyns pymts at the store, and you cannot pay Mervyns online at this time, so I have had to mail my pymt, which I hate to do, so I rarely use it because of that.
