Hello All. I will TRY not to drag this out too long. So long story short I was on a path to rebuilding my credit Nov. 2014. I'm just going by the free credit trackers and the credit tracker I have with capital one. In Nov 2014 my credit was at 525, I was able to get a secured cc with capital one, then 4 months later I got the credit one credit card. Around May 2015 I had a good standing with cap 1 so I decides to apply for a quicksilver card and BOOM!.. I was approved. At the height of my credit I was at a 673 credit score and this was all within about 6 months. I did lose my job in April So My finances started running dry around the end of august so I maxed out my cards. My credit took a nose dive to about 550. On top of that someone ran my credit on black friday at 3 different locations. I'm pretty sure they must was really dissapointed.. HA!

During all this I have kept up with on time payments along with my car note. I did eventually find another job in December. And now I'm am prod to say that I paid ALL My credit cards off including MY CAR NOTE!! YAY!!!! $6500 big ones to pa off my car.. Worked a lot of OT but I wanted out of that payment. Paid about $10k since Dec. 2013 and only about $3000 went to the principal. I'm expecting and hoping to see a credit jump within the next month or 2. Right now it's a bit better at 590 but no where near what it was last august. Now that I have all that squared away I'd love to get the baddies of of my credit profile with the help of this awesome forum. I'll list what I have and hope to get some tips on how to handle them.

    (Capital one)

(Capital One/ was HSBC Cap1 took over account) 2012

(EOS CCA) AT&T OC.. Lst reported 2012
-This should have been gone away!! ($845) I havent had AT&T since 2008.. How do I get this off if the CA keeps updating?

This was from a 2007 ($500) but JH has a open of 2014.. The debt is past the SOL correct?

    (Progressive)
*New* 2015. ($700) I had to make a choice when I lost my job to take a late payment ding or let the insurance go and me not getting repoed again was priority.

    (Wells fargo dealer services)Repo
This is one that I'm the most afraid of and have the most regret. ($4,884) Any idea on how to nagotiate a repo or trying to get it removed?

I also have some inqiries that I know wasnt from me. Is it even possible to get those removed? As I sated I've been current with all my payment minus the new insurance collection but I had to ake a yough decision and my car payment was more imporant. How would I go about getting these items removed from my report.. Any little detail will help. Thanks.

Hey T87, welcome back to Creditnet. And wow, it sounds like you've had quite the journey over the past few years! Big congrats to you on the new job and paying off all your credit cards and car loan. That's always a good feeling, eh?!

Now, on to the baddies on your credit reports. First, what have you done thus far? Have you tried disputing inaccuracies via the CRAs for any of these accounts yet, or have you done nothing with any of them yet?

Hi Joshua I have not done any disputes yet. How would I start with that? I'm not sure what step I would need to take to dispute. Can it be done electronically or would I have to send out letters to the CRA's?

I recommend sending your letters via snail mail CMRRR. It takes a bit more effort, but it's more effective than disputing online, especially if what you're disputing doesn't really fit within the limited options they give you online.

Let's take the first debt you mentioned as an example. Cap One is reporting a closed account with a balance of $488. Are you sure that balance is accurate? Dispute it as inaccurate with the CRAs and wait to hear their response. Make sense?

Just wanted to follow up to make sure you didn't have any questions regarding disputes with the CRAs. Also, it occurred to me that the first 2 Cap One credit card accounts you mention are mostly likely the same account since they both show a balance of $488 somewhere in the details. The fact that one is reported as closed with a $0 balance and one is reported as closed with a balance of $488 should definitely be disputed as inaccurate.

Hey T87, have you put together any of your dispute letters and sent them out to the CRAs yet? We didn't hear from you after this last note, so just wanted to make sure you got the help you needed.
