    Need collection account off report

Ive recently been approved for a mastercard for a $3000.00 limit. But I have to show proof that a derog. is paid. This is for a cell phone bill thru SBC SWBELL. Ive never had a cell phone with SBC. I do have a regular phone line with them and never had a problem. They said the account opened in4/20/02, and the balance is 927. This is not mine and I need it taken care of asap. Should I send a validation letter which will take more time than I want but if its the best option I would do it. This has been turned over to a CA. which Ive never received anything from them or SBC. Should I call SWB or the CA first before validation letter...Thanks for this board...Thanks all

They never take it off the report when we make it right so why should we take it off the docket when they do?

I'd call them (SWB) and see if they can clear it up. If they can, ask that they keep you on the line and do a 3-way call and notify right then and there to the creditor.

THEN before you let them off the line with you AND the creditor, request they send/fax you a letter stating this isn't your account. Get the reps name and id number.

If you run into trouble, ask for a supervisor.

If they won't do any of this, validate.
