    Hi,
I am being sued by a scumbag collection agency and the only thing they have provided me is a computer printout; which we all know isn't proper validation. I need to find out if any of you know of any court cases where the Wollman letter or the FTC's opinion of validation was argued successfully. I have a feeling when I go to court the Judge will accept their printout as adequate proof of the debt. I need a little more ammunition. I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Why not just countersue for twice the amoynt and make your own computer print out as proof? If the judge accepts one, he should accept the other.

Since Wollman isn't law, just opinion of the FTC the judge would be more likely to accept it if I could show him it has been argued successfully in court that a printout isn't adequate proof of validation.

    Hi,

I just posted a similar thread; wish I had seen this - I have a similar questions regarding a utility bill debt and what would constitute sufficient validation.

I ask because in all the utility bills I've had in my name, I don't believe I've ever signed anything.

Would the utility company (phone) go so far as to attempt to verify calls placed or something along those lines? Since they don't have my signature, in what other ways can they tie the debt to me?

I'm trying to figure out how to proceed for a debt that is on my fiancee's credit and one that may eventually end up on mine.

    Thanks again.
