Hey all, I'm in a bit of a situation where I need to get a new computer for school. I don't want to use my school funds as it's not a absolutley dire situation, plus those funds are earmarked for other things. I will be getting a much better paying job in about a month so I'm not to concerned about paying it off. However I have a pretty low credit score, 572 w/TU. Any suggestions?

That score is too low for Best Buy and Circuit City. Dell may touch it but, I think they pull Experian. Aaron's may be another option.

Yes considered that. However, being that I'm a computer geek my needs are far to specific for Aarons. Unfortunately, I'm finding that I may not be able to do what I need to without doing custom built. See I won't run Windows on my system, only Linux. Great program, but unfortunately not friendly with off the shelf hardware. *sigh*

Have you tried shopping in Craigslist? My son has gotten some great systems for next to nothing (in fact, for exactly nothing, in some cases). I was actually impressed with what people were just giving away!

You might have to pick up a couple to put together what you need, but it can be done with a little shopping and a few phone calls.

Thanks, sounds like a great site with a little research.
