    Newbie intro: mci, sprint, etc

    great board and useful info.

I have 2 MCI collections from CBCS and PARK DANSAN.
1 SPRINT from Afni. They are all on experian but not everywhere else.
1 from DC credtisrv in Topanga, CA

I have not had much trouble getting credit cards except from First USA/Bank One which recently started denying.

I have a long perfect history of credit card use without any lates. No mortgage or car. All my collections are phone, etc.

    MCI CBCS $50
Reported as new even though it's probably years old.
I got a letter in Nov from CBCS (still was not on Experian). I have only written to CBCS (1st validation). I did not dispute with the bureaus (probably should have). It is now on Experian with FCRA dispute note. I have just prepared the second letter which I also emailed and faxed. The first letter went priority mail with signature the copy of which I was going to include in my certified mail 2nd validation request. Is this a good idea or should I have pretended I am not aware of all that.

    MCI PARK DANSAN $85

    Prepared first validation

    AFNI Sprint $30

    Prepared first validation

    D C CREDITSV CULLIGAN WATER
Chargeoff initially $180, $230 with fees.
A few years ago I signed an agreement and gave a credit card. For some reason they did not charge it immediately and months later they wanted payment again as that card was closed. At the same time I was becoming unhappy with their service and refused payment (it is possible that they actually charged the first credit card but I could not find the receipt; it probably was not charged).
About 18 months ago they wrote collection letter and I wrote to stop contacting me.
I was planning on preparing a validation letter.

I am pasting and editing Psychdoc's letters.

    Newbie intro: mci, sprint, etc

    afni is from 2000
cbcs is from 2003 (should be also 2000)
    park dansan from 1999
    California.

    Any comments, advice are welcome.

Should I request validation and dispute with CRAs for all 4 at once.

Is it a good idea to include the delivery receipt of the first validation with the second validation letter i.e. is it a good idea to demonstrate that I am keeping good records and collecting proof.

    Newbie intro: mci, sprint, etc

these are relatively small amounts. i would just pay the money in exchange for deletion from your credit reports.

yes, but I thought it might be interesting to practice a little in lower risk situations, learn the procedures and maybe even sue for violations, etc. Since they are so old they've already damaged my credit rating. I have been denied credit in the past apart from recent First USA.

correction: CBCS had not yet entered anything on the credit report when they sent a letter and I requested validation. They had done it after I requested validation. Does that change anything?

I also have NCO mci for 80, 120 with fees. This is on TU only. Some of these are the same thing collected by different agencies it appears.

They never take it off the report when we make it right so why should we take it off the docket when they do?

how long after you sent validation did it appear? depending on that timeframe they very well could have requested it be posted prior to your letter but it didn't show up until after. its not always immediate.

They received validation request on 11/21
Also I have not had an account with MCI in a coupla years, yet it's open on 10/2003

The last time I pulled EXP was on 10/9/2003; it was not there. Their first letter was sent on 11/5/2003
It appears they reported it before sending the letter?
    Is that ok?

I am about to send the 2nd validation request and dispute with EXP.

Sounds like the CA reaged it. VIOLATION if so.
