I'm going to be leasing a new Infiniti or Nissan in the next few months. Does anyone have either or both of their credit tiers? Thanks

Just based on your scores alone without knowing what you have on your reports, you might have a problem obtaining a lease and if your able to get one worked out I would think it would not be very desirable terms that would make it worth going for a lease.

My brother is good friends with the dealer's credit manager, and is also going to cosign for me and he has a score in the upper 700s. So, he doesn't think I'll have a problem.

I have a loan through Infiniti Financial. I applied online and received an almost immediate e-mail approval. They have been great. The customer service is top notch and you can make your payments by mail, direct withdrawal through your checking account or with a credit card. The credit card is a new option. If I hadn't already signed up for the direct withdrawal, I would have used a credit card for points or cash back.

My FICO at the time was over 700 (I can't remember the exact number) and I recieved 4.9% financing.

The sales and service staff treat you like royalty (LOL). An Infiniti customer is definately spoiled. ;-D
I will be a customer for quite some time. Infiniti and Nissan products are top quality. I have had no problems in the 1.5 years I have had my vehicle.

I hope you get your lease and with good terms. Good luck!!!

I think it will also depend on the dealership... I have a '01 Infiniti I-30 that I bought in a large NJ Infiniti dealer and got a 72 month loan at tier 1 rates.. I put down about $4000 but was about $8000 upside down on my trade in.. my scores were in the low 600 range at the time

I love my I-30 and have had pretty good service from the Infinti dealers

    Good Luck!

just to let you know. It goes on his credit report. If you miss a payment. HIS SCORE will show this. So i think people are stupid to co-sign for people. I had the option of my dad co-signing so i could get a lower rate, but i felt so bad and guilty, if i died,or ****ed up again, i didnt want him to have the debt to pay.

With your scores he would be very STupid to co-sign for you;. You have shown very POOR responsibilty and concern for your credit. You should buy a junker for CASH until you learn.

Wow ! judged and found lacking ?

    just curious, lesarin....

are you telepathic, is there information flying through cyberspace that we're not privy to? I went back and re-read posts by Slinkyboi and all I saw were a paid off $800 credit card, a paid collection to a gas company for the sum total of $67, and a paid judgement that he thought would also be removed...and he wants to lease a car and buy a computer.

I don't want to get TOO snippy, but I think you're being pretty judgemental. I appreciate you warning him Slinkyboi that he could negatively impact his brother's credit if he doesn't make his payments, but I think you're out of line to state that this is stupidity on his brother's part.

    and regarding your

This is pretty amazing to me. How do you know that Slinkyboi has been irresponsible, and what test does he need to pass to show that he has LEARNED from his mistake? something signed in blood, or will you take less? sorry, but what you wrote just struck me as "advice" that was very harshly given.

How about the old "judge not lest ye be judged" ?

It's how he cant handle SMALL bills. how can this person be held responsible for making 300.00+ payments a month. I find it so amazing how many suckers will co-sign for people. I bet you 95% of parents would not co-sign for their kids.

It you can't get something on your own, DON"T GET IT. Ever heard of goals?

LIke i said. It show;s up on there report as THERE OWN DEBT. this will be held against them, for example. buying house. Debt to income ratio. They report every month. if your 30 days late. YOUR BROTHER WAS 30 days late. So if your willing to Risk your brothers great credit, for your sorry ass. All power to you.

lesarin. How the hell do you know what circumstances led up to his credit problems?. Is having an unexpected illness and not having insurance irresponsible?, Is unexpectedly losing your job irresponsible, Is a catostrophic life event that wipes out your finances irresponsible?.Now I know sometimes it's one's own fault for their credit situation but, Why assume the worst? And how good is your credit?

One more thing, His brother knows him better than we do and seems to be willing to trust him....

Well, I certainly don't have to explain myself to you. It's called family, mine happens to be very close...and we trust each other. We have all helped one another out at one time or another. My brother happens to be making $500,000+ per year and is willing to help me get a car I can easily afford the payment on, but need a little help getting a good lease/loan rate. How you can tell simply from reading a post of mine how responsible I have or have not been is amazing. I'm glad you're not in my family, it's sounds more like you'd be an enemy, not a loved one. We both thoroughly understand the implications of cosigning. My current car is cosigned by my dad, 4 years and not a single negative on the account. Enough of that, I'm not going to let some scrooge rain on my parade.

lesarin might be a bit harsh but i do agree with him.

look at slinkyboi's post history, his original scores were low 500s and 1 was below 500.

(from my own credit problems, and i had a lot, i was at 560-580 when i started. i can't begin to see what a low 500s or sub-500 means.)

he has *begun* his credit repair work. in addition to wanting to buy a *new* car, he also has revealed intent to purchase a new computer (see Dell thread)

the timeline he has shown for these purchases is about 2-4 months into his credit repair process.

having his brother vouch for him is the only thing that's holding him up at this moment in terms of the car deal, short of a ridiculous loan with high down payment at 22% or more APR.

and at the rate he is discussing his issues and future ideas (which involve spending a significant amount of money), it is wise for him to purchase a new Nissan or Infiniti? Those aren't cheap purchases.

lets just say it's hard to swallow the "i have learned my lesson line." - i'm betting slinkyboi is in his 20s, under 25.

Re: Wow ! judged and found lacking ?

My brother owns 5 medical offices and employs 4 doctors beside himself. That's how he makes his money. I'm a software engineer, and while I make in the $60,000 range and am single and could afford to buy the computer, I am trying to do it on credit simply to establish a higher score over time. My brother actually talked to the Infiniti guy last nite he's a friend of his) and he said I could get the lease on my own, but would get a bad rate, so my brother is simply enabling me to get a better rate. I wrote some software for the web to help him track patients and how his doctor's retention rates were, etc .... stuff that would have cost him big bucks to buy from a company...but he's my brother, so I spent a month making the program and did it for free. Like I said before, my brother, sister and I are always helping each other out where possible.

hope you get the car at a good rate

you don't have to prove anything to anyone on the board, this is all about you and your credit and what kind of journey you are on

each of us is different, that's why the diversity of input is a good thing, we just take what is best for our circumstances, and go from there !

I'm getting a 2003.5 Sedan w/ leather, sunroof, spoilers...not sure what else. Also, not sure which color yet. They are changing reds at some point in the 2003.5 year and are dropping the blue for a lighter blue. The half model years don't come out till October, though, so I have a bit to wait and that much longer to up my scores. Have you test driven one? SUCH A FUN AND POWERFUL CAR!!!!

If you like that blue, better get a 2003, cause they are discontinuing it for the 2003.5 and later models. So, it won't be available after October/November...or so my dealer tells me.
