a question about Credit Repair.. I sent out a dispute to the top 3 CRA's on a few negative items on my credit report. After 30 days i never got a response. I sent a follow up letter asking them to remove the negative items since they are in violation of the fcra by not responding. I did use return receipt request and my address was a P.O. box. I also sent a copy of my social security card and drivers license but i took a permanent marker and blacked out my social security number and my drivers liscense number and my photo on my dl. I did this because i was taught to never give them extra information because they will use it against you. The problem I have is that they never responded to any of my letters. This was a 3 month process. I checked my credit and nothing has changed. Please tell me where I went wrong before I do this whole thing all over.less 6m ago

Well, if that's the scenario, your only alternative would be to sue, be prepared... Speaking not from my personal experiences (ahem), but from NEWS reports, and namely the February (if I am remembering right) 60 Minutes report on the FCRA, you can expect about a YEAR before the CRAs will typically even think about settling. No matter how egregious the violations are.
