have been trying like crazy to get an item off my CR- with an OC- Cross Country Bank charge off in 1999. It has came back verified each time. I am now sending them a dispute letter to see if I can possibly catch them on a violstion of not reporting to CRA's as consumer disputes- any other ideas???? Anyone??

They are known to outright harass people via telephone and mail. Maybe if Im lucky they will do that with me, now that they have my phone number and new address. Keep a log of names, dates and context of conversation

To those of you on this board that beat this "loan shark mentality" cc company- please tell me how you did it. What violstion did you get them on?

Don't bank on it (pun intended.) The FDCPA doesn't protect you from OC's. Your state laws may though.

Why don't you do a search for the nutcase for unpaid collections. You may or may not want to use it, but is definately effective (I have never heard anyone say it didn't work for them) against unpaid creditors.

I have a chargeoff with the same company. Comes back verified each time for me, too. It only appears on my EX report.

I used the nutcase for a settled account with cap one - they sent me a letter back stating they were enclosing documents "for my review".... The copies of my application and settlement check she said she enclosed, were NOT included in the paperwork. all she sent were computerized statements showing month after month of exorbitant late and overlimit fees.

She said they're reporting it correctly and there's no reason for any revisions.
