    Old Addresses on EQ....

I called today to get some bad addresses deleted and they said it would take 21-30 days to update my CR. Seems like a long time. But then again they said they would give me an updated free CR(is this usual?). They still have a couple weeks to send me the procedure report from my last dispute.

    Old Addresses on EQ....

Which CRA? CSC (EQ affiliate) actually investigates old addresses before they will remove. Also, anytime you have changes on your report as a result of an investigation, the FCRA requires they send you an updated report.

Evil Experian doesn't think they have to though.

    Old Addresses on EQ....

I just called and wanted them deleted. I want to do an online dispute of a CA TL. I will do it anyway, see what happens.

Wow! That's a long time to update a couple of addresses.

I disputed two addresses seperately online through Equifax. The changes were made and the updated reports were generated and mailed that day.

Check the status of your request online. All you need is the confirmation number of your most recent report or the confirmation number they gave you regarding this request.

    Old Addresses on EQ....

I have a feeling it won't take that long. I just disputed the CA TL online and it said that one dispute is already in progress. We will see what happens. Funny thing is it was my same address now, just different forms of it. The one that the CA has is one i'm trying to dispute.

I don't know about EQ, but their affiliate, in order to investigate puts at least one TL in dispute by random to see if they confirm the old address.

    Old Addresses on EQ....

From what I have read on the boards - CAs use the address as a verifying factor when a dispute is initiated. If they do not have your correct address, they can not verify. Is this correct, Veterans??

    Old Addresses on EQ....

awwww..that makes sense! i've been fortunate so far...all my disputes have been deleted except for one from OC..and still trying to figure that one out. working on inquiries too.

still might be worth getting old addresses off, once everything else has been taken care of.

    thanks for your response!!
