Ordered Report Online: No Result

After thanking me for my order and taking my money via credit card Experian gave this vague message: We are unable to process your request online...therefore we cannot provide a specific reason as to why we cannot authenticate you online...We will send your user ID via e-mail and password via US mail within 5 days...."

My own admission is as follows: after I submitting my e-application I was transferred to a page with about 5 mulitple choice questions regarding things such as previous streets I have lived on, previous student loan creditors, auto loan creditors. Now the strange thing is that the first three or four questions had no answers that I recognized or that were pertinent to me. One of the questions had an answer that was likely pertinant but I was concerned that If I picked it I was confirming info that I had not seen the details too. So, questions-Are they using this waiting game as a delaying tactic? Are they legitimately concerned I am not who I say I am and last but not least do I have any recourse, any way to make them give me what I just paid for immediately? How can I ensure they will send the promised password within 5 days? I know when reports are requested by mail they generally need only my name, current address and copy of SS card (front only I am told) and proof of current address ie., copy of phone bill. Perhaps with my credit card paymeny they needed my phone number and mother's maiden name? Anyway any Creditnet pro's response and help would be welcome. I am posting on a few boards. Found some good ones, I think. This one seems like one to return to~~**~~**~~**

moneyelf, I am not a pro but will walk you through this one. When you try to pull your credit report online they take the steps to make sure it is really you. The only problem that is going on is that you did not match the report the way they have it. The first time you pull online and want the results you paid for right now did not match what they have, that is all. Don't worry about it, everyone here has been though it the first time and probably failed. I would say that you will get mail around Tuesday with this information. Remember this information when you get it and you will not have to go through it again with this CRA which means credit reporting agency. Create a login name and password and use it until you are dead. I know some of the questions on there seem like trick questions, don't worry about it. In a few days everything will be fine and you will have your report online. It is not a trick by them and it will all work out shortly. They are just protecting you with all of the ID theft crap going on these days.

This is actually a good site to turn to and so is www.creditboards.com

I am only someone who is not close to a pro on this site but help newbies like yourself like others who have helped me. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for writing back! I feel a tad better and will take all advice and use it. Yes, it is frustrating to have to wait now that I have this tremedous momentum. Feel like I'm on a mission that just can't wait. And I almost went to a mortgage broker to see if she could get me my infiles (I trust her but I am in a very small town and was concerned about the others in her office getting their mitts on my info) Anyway, she told me the first day I met her that she had been through the $$$ ringer herself and didn't pay her bills for four years. Recently, too and now she is a mortgage broker making LOTS of money. Go figure.

Had the same problem with Experian with my mother-in-law. She hasn't even had a mortgage on a home in 25 years and they still came up with a question about that. We answered none of the above and got the same response. I received the userid by e-mail, and they mailed the password to my mother-in-law.

Also, I don't believe they really charge you until you can successfully logon and get the information.

I think they start most people off with the few day wait to get them in shape, waiting shape.

moneyelf, If you ever do a first round of disputes it's around 30 days. 30 LONG and probably more days. Good luck!
